Clothing: find your size

Explore clothing

Start with your measurements, then compare them with the information for your chosen item. Size labels and conversions can vary between styles.

Which measurements to check for each garment
Shopping forMeasurements to check
Tops & jacketsChest or bust, shoulders and sleeve length. For layering, compare garment dimensions with a jacket or top that already fits you well.
DressesBust, waist and hips. Check the dress length too, especially for fitted or maxi styles.
Trousers & skirtsWaist and hips, plus inseam or garment length. Check whether the waistband is fixed, elastic or adjustable.
Where do I find my productโ€™s measurements?

Here is a real example from the Abigail jacket. Layout and available measurements vary by product.

1Look beside the size options

Look for โ€œSizing help?โ€ beside the available sizes. Check the productโ€™s own measurements and fit notes before deciding. Choose only from the sizes currently offered.

How to measure

Take a moment to measure.

Wear light clothing, stand naturally and keep the tape level. It should sit close to your body without pulling tight.

1Chest / bust
Measure around the fullest part of your chest or bust, with the tape passing under your arms and level across your back.
2Waist
Measure around your natural waist โ€” the narrowest part of your torso. Keep your body relaxed.
3Hips
Stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.
4Inseam
Measure from the top of your inner leg to your ankle. You can also measure the inside seam of trousers that fit you well.

Shoe size guide

Explore shoes

Measure both feet, then compare the longer foot with the chart for your chosen pair. Shoe conversions vary by style and collection; a general adult chart does not apply to childrenโ€™s shoes.

Measure heel to toe.

  1. Place a sheet of paper on a hard floor against a wall. Stand on it with your heel touching the wall.
  2. Mark the end of your longest toe, then measure the distance from the wall to the mark.
  3. Measure both feet and use the longer measurement. Wear the socks you plan to wear with your shoes.

Check the units before comparing: 1 inch = 2.54 cm, and 10 mm = 1 cm. Foot length, insole length and outsole length are different measurements.

Fit questions

A few things about fit.

Where do I find the product size chart?

Look for โ€œSizing help?โ€ beside the size options and open โ€œProduct Detailsโ€ for any measurements and fit notes. Use the information for that exact style. If measurements are missing, send us the product link.

What if my measurements fall between clothing sizes?

Start with the measurements and fit advice for your chosen item. Check the fabricโ€™s stretch and the fit you prefer. For a structured piece, compare with a similar garment you already own. If the chart is unclear or your measurements do not match one size, ask us before ordering.

Are the measurements for my body or the garment?

Check the label on the product chart. Body measurements describe you; garment measurements describe the item itself. When a chart gives garment measurements, comparing with a similar piece you already own can help.

Will the same size fit across every style?

Fit can vary with the cut, fabric and design. Check each productโ€™s chart and fit notes, even if you have ordered from SEAME before.
